basic space, open air

if you haven't been watching the wonders of the solar system programme on bbc two then you seriously need to get involved. its presented by the adorable professor brian cox who just bloody loves science so much and comes out with brilliant lines like "it may just be a blip on a screen but to me its beautiful". i just knew him as the guy who did the science bits on this morning sometimes but apparently he was in that band d:ream who did that "things can only get better song" as well as being a mega figure in the world of physics. i was genuinely a little bit gutted when i wiki-ed him and found out he was married.

if you wanna skip the sciencey bits then jump to 2.30 mins in.

its on iplayer, check it out.

birds in hats

alice tams of the brilliant birds in hats blog drew me my very own bird in a hat. when asked what i would like, after a lot of deliberating, i opted for a mallard in a cowboy hat.

isn't it brilliant!? thank you very much alice! can't wait to return to new cross tomorrow and have that waiting for me.

popped home at the weekend

after the hectic week i've had - working hard and playing way too hard i decided i'd spend this mother's day weekend back in the 'shire. saturday night was spent with some of the best people in the world, pictured here;

lovely. then today was spent eating everything and watching back-to- back episodes of zoo days on fiver. then me and my sister cooked dinner so our mummy didn't have to. really great stuff.

friday, i'm in love

this post just shows i spend too much time at deptford bunker club. its all good though. last friday was deptford darling. i, influenced by my daily dose of shakira's she wolf, went dressed as a wolf.

i particularly enjoy how somebody accurately captured the love between me and jess.

this friday was dead gentlemen and it was a huge success. way more than anyone ever expected. ever. it seemed like it might be a disaster but the boys managed to pull it off. i invited people and they actually came so massive thank you to them and a general thanks to everyone who came. i got ridiculously drunk and don't remember a lot and woke up with half a moustache on my face. don't worry i asked someone to draw it there and it's fine because someone remarked how they liked my "cocorosie look". this is the only photographic evidence (to my knowledge) that i was even there.

historical military leaders painted onto nails?

i can appreciate that.

from vice.

here we go again

sorry all i seem to be posting is videos at the moment but i've currently got two essays that need to be done and so i haven't had time to trawl though cyberspace looking for interesting stuff to post. normal service may resume next week, who knows. i did come across this music video though (through holly willoughby's twitter?! i didn't even know i followed her, i don't know why..so many questions) anyway the song isn't that great but its another good video from OK go.

hope you're all well and enjoying the sunshine we've been having, even if it is still a bit nippy. yesterday i saw a man wearing shorts, t-shirt and FLIP FLOPS (and i questioned if i was a bit keen wearing sunglasses). oh britain how i love you.
