citrus and poppy seed cake with lemon mascarpone icing

i've actually made this cake on three separate occasions now and i don't mean to blow my own trumpet but each time someone has described it as "the best they've ever eaten". this is probably the best i've ever made it, in the shape of a heart and on a strawberry print cakestand.

city kids in the countryside

finally got the photos developed from our camping adventure in the woods in suffolk for felix's 21st.

these are all taken at felix's parents amazing house which is a converted chapel.

i'm back living with my parents again for a bit as the tenancy on my new house doesn't begin until the 21st. during this time i have mostly been taking photos of my cat. tomorrow i'm picking up my photos from getting developed and then i will hopefully have something worthwhile to blog.

looking for something to do this weekend? i'm going to be doing this, maybe you should too?
